Who is Markaz Umar or MUBAK?
Do I need to register for each day or just once?
You MUST register for each day.
How can I register for the conference?
Registration is open on the homepage (conference 2022) tab.
What are the lecture times?
A full itinerary is available HERE, however the start and end times are as follows:
Birmingham (Saturday & Sunday): 2:00pm – 10pm
London (Monday): 2:00pm – 10pm
London (Tuesday): 10:00am – 4pm
Can sisters attend both cities?
The event is open for registration for brothers, sisters and children. All welcome.
Can I give the shaykh salam?
Honouring and allowing privacy for the people of knowledge is from good manners of a Muslim. All attendees must remain seated during the lectures and take a seat allocated by the stewards on site. After the lecture, members of the public must not crowd nor rush towards the Shaykh or crowd around exits. Due to safeguarding reasons, the Shaykh shall enter and exit the premises without any obstruction. Anyone found not abiding by the rules of the conference will be asked to leave the premises.
What if a brother or sister displays bad manners or character during the conference?
Excellent manners should be employed at all times with other conference attendees, neighbours, members of the public and the local community – let us set a noble example in the call to Allah.
Is there parking facilities at the conference venue?
Yes, but limited, so arrive early.
STRICTLY no illegal parking or obstruction of the street facing the school. Please park in the allocated car-park. Cars are parked at your own risk, MUBAK and venue owners do not take any liability. If street parking is used, please ensure you are allowed to park there! Private Clampers operate in this area!
I’ve seen children littering, what should I do?
All attendees are responsible for their waste. PLEASE remember to ALWAYS use the rubbish bins for your litter! You must take responsibility for any waste on site and encourage your brothers and sisters to do the same.
Can I sleep overnight at the conference venue?
Sadly the venues doesn’t have this facility for overnight stay. We recommend you start looking for accommodation on Airbnb, booking.com.
Can children attend the event?
Yes children are all welcome, but must be supervised at all times. Parents are responsible for their children and must make sure children are monitored at all times, including toilets breaks.
Will the conference be translated to English?
Yes, all the lectures will be translated live into English, InshaaAllah.
